We’re having such fun in coding club. We use an app called Scratch Junior to help us with our skills.
As the autumn draws on the weather gets colder and wetter, however this does not deter the enthusiasm shown by the children in year six during Discovery Time as they build our winter shelter. As we will be going out in most weathers, it is important that the children have some warm protective clothing to protect their school uniform that they can change into for the session. Over the next few weeks year six on Mondays and year three on Wednesdays will be constructing Sukkah shelters and making and eating unleavened bread cooked over a camp fire.
We are currently learning about the Anglo-Saxons and their way of life. Do you have an interesting fact about them that you would like to share? If so, leave a comment below!

On Wednesday 24th June 2015 4 students from year 5, who were Sam Turnbull, Alex Southworth, Katie White and Billy Styche went to HGHS for a maths challenge. This challenge involved teamwork, logic and number knowledge. The team worked well together and in the end they were victorious with Moorfield closely 2nd, Warren Wood following them and Hazel Grove Primary unluckily last.
This challenge was difficult but the final scores were close. The pupils worked well as a team. Cale Green never showed up, that meant less competition for Norbury. Some year sevens gave the schools a helping hand.
Our helper was Luke Hall, an old student from our school. Thank you to Luke for looking after us, another boy called Sean came with us as well. All of of the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves, as a prize, the children were all awarded a set of mathematical instruments. Well Done to all of the students who took part in it!
